Come and join a bike/e-bike trip along the sparkling coastline of the Tasman! After a busy week of conferencing, this trip is for you to socialise with your fellow peers, be active and have fun. Along the way, some of the region’s soils and environmental issues will be introduced e.g., land contamination, urban sprawl, exotic forestry. The journey will lead you from the orchards in Motueka via the vista of Tasman View Road to Māpua and the beach of Rabbit Island to Richmond. In the afternoon, we are going to have a picnic/BBQ at Rabbit Island with a splash in the ocean not obligatory but recommended. From Rabbit Island the final leg trails back through the Waimea estuary to Richmond, where the official programme concludes. Riders have the choice to continue for another 12 km to Nelson at their own leisure.
Note: An induction to the bikes/e-bikes and all cycle equipment will be provided by kiwi journeys. The shuttle from Richmond/Nelson to Motueka is included in the price as is the ferry from Mapua to Rabbit Island and the picnic function. Please, bring your own snacks and water for along the way.
