Inventory of NZ soil sites of international, national and regional importance

Compiled in the late 1980’s, this two-part inventory lists significant soil sites in New Zealand. The main purpose of the inventory was to identify and describe the least-disturbed sites that represent the full range of soils in New Zealand. It also includes Stewart Island, Chatham Islands and subantarctic islands. It mainly comprises sites which have formal protection for scenic, biotic or scientific reasons.

The inventory has been published as NZSSS Occasional Publication 1 (1991) and 2 (1993).
