Kia ora, I grew up in the small country town of Piopio in the King Country, where my family have a dairy farm. I am currently the Team Leader for the Environmental Science North Team based at Ruakura in the Waikato. I have been employed with AgResearch since 2012. During my time at AgResearch I have been fortunate to have a number of different roles; Research Associate, Farm System Nutrient Analyst, Project Manager and now Team Leader. Prior to working at AgResearch, I lived in South Australia and worked as a Soil and Land Management Consultant for a company called Rural Solutions. I studied at Waikato University and completed my Masters of Science under Louis Schipper on “The ability of nitrification inhibitors to decrease denitrification rates in soils”. I have enjoyed being a member and involved with the NZSSS over the years. In 2014 I was on the organising committee for the Hamilton NZSSS conference, I really enjoyed being a part of the team organising this conference.
Outside of work, I live on a small lifestyle block outside of Hamilton with my husband, Shaun and our three daughters Ella (5), Chloe (3) and Zara (1) and our animal family. As a family we enjoy biking and fishing, heading away to the family beach house or down to the family farm. When I get sometime to myself I enjoy pottering in the garden, reading books and catching up with friends.
